School of Communication and Journalism /2018

Hurricane María brought a lot of destruction to the island of Puerto Rico. The University of Puerto Rico’s Río Piedras campus was no exception. A few of its buildings were severely damaged, including its School of Communication and Journalism. The following year, the third-year design students at the time were assigned the task of designing a proposal for the new facilities for the Communication and Journalism faculty. My design consisted of three volumes with a suspended red longitudinal building connecting them; red being the UPRRP’s color. I proposed to have it located next to the university’s radio station. It has an open ground level, with offices, study rooms, computer centers, and classrooms on the following three levels.
