Casitas + Natural Pools /2021

With the intention of proposing spaces that would entice tourists to visit the coastal town of Loíza in Puerto Rico and explore its natural wonders, I designed two short-term lodging projects. These Casitas can be rented out to tourists who want to experience nature up-close, and are accompanied by natural pools. The first project sits deep in the Piñones Mangrove Forest, where wooden tiny houses are floating anchored to a dock at the Piñones Lagoon, where visitors can kayak right from their front deck. The second project is located right on the north coast in Punta Maldonado, where minimalist concrete two level houses overlook the ocean, and a pool area is found right on the water.
